Retro Station: Classic Sprite

Retro Station is a retro game emulator app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.

We do NOT collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any account information. There is no account or login required to use the app.

1. DATA WE COLLECT

1.1 Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

We collect anonymous data about how you use the app, such as which screens you visit, which features you use, and general app performance. This data is collected by Google Firebase Analytics. It is used to understand how users interact with the app so we can improve it.

What it includes: app events, device type, operating system version, country/region, app version, session duration.

What it does NOT include: your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.

1.2 Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

When the app crashes or encounters an error, we automatically collect a crash report. This includes the type of error, the device model, operating system version, and a stack trace showing where in the code the crash occurred. This data is used exclusively to find and fix bugs.

What it includes: error type, device model, OS version, app version, crash stack trace.

What it does NOT include: ROM filenames, your personal data, or any gameplay content.

1.3 Advertising (Google AdMob) — Free users only

If you use the free version of the app, we show ads powered by Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and use your Advertising ID (a resettable anonymous identifier provided by Android), IP address, and general device information.

Ad types used: banner ads, interstitial (full-screen) ads, and app-open ads.

VIP subscribers do not see any ads, and no advertising data is collected for VIP users.

You can reset or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your Android device settings under Google > Ads.

1.4 In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)

If you subscribe to Retro Station VIP, the purchase is processed entirely by Google Play. We receive only a confirmation of whether your subscription is active or not. We do not receive or store your payment details, credit card information, or billing address.

Subscription options: Monthly or Yearly plan.

1.5 Feature Flags (Firebase Remote Config)

We use Firebase Remote Config to remotely control certain app features and settings (such as enabling or disabling features for all users). No personal data is sent or received through this service.

2. DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT

• Your name, email address, or phone number
• Precise GPS location
• Contacts or calendar data
• Photos or camera access
• The content or names of your ROM files
• Your save states or gameplay progress (stored only on your device)
• Your cheat codes (stored only on your device)

3. DATA STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE

The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers or any third party:

• Your ROM files (copied to the app's private storage folder)
• Save states and screenshots
• Cheat codes you have added
• Your preferences (theme, language, controller skin, background image)
• Your VIP status cache (a local file that records your subscription status to avoid unnecessary network calls on startup)

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

5. USERS IN THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA (EEA) AND UK — GDPR

If you are located in the EEA or UK, we will ask for your consent before collecting analytics data or showing personalized ads. You can choose to accept or decline. If you decline:

• Firebase Analytics will not collect any usage data from you.
• AdMob will show non-personalized ads only, or no ads at all depending on your choice.
• Crash reports may still be collected as they are necessary for fixing critical bugs that affect app stability (legitimate interest basis under GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

You may withdraw your consent at any time by going to Settings inside the app and selecting Privacy / Consent.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. DATA RETENTION

Analytics and crash report data is retained by Google for up to 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. We do not store any user data on our own servers.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the data collected about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of analytics collection
• Opt out of personalized advertising

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
